Thanks go to Hilary Hodkinson and her team for organising a smooth event, to Jad Dziadosz for his help, encouragement and advice as controller, to David Olivant for rearranging the map at 1:7500 scale, to Simon Elliott for printing the maps and to Michael Napier & Nigel Mockridge for sorting out all the 'whizz kid' work to programme the controls.

Thanks to all the competitors who turned up today and enjoyed their run through Bestwood. The woods are in a good runnable state at the moment with some brambly areas but I tried to miss most of those. I think that the course lengths erring on the short side was a good idea as the climb in Bestwood is deceptive and there were a few weary legs out there today I think. I have planned at Bestwood before using conventional (old fashioned) pin punching when the area was much larger than today. For the reduced area I tried to create courses with plenty of changes in direction and terrain and aimed to keep you concentrating hard for the time you were out there.

As for the two controls out of place early on.....to those who are new to running on courses I've planned I can only apologise for the error and to those of you who have experienced my courses before you should know it rarely goes without a hiccup somewhere! I aim to entertain and challenge and try not to be too scatter brained!
